Information on Montpellier local transports (TAM)

By Air

Montpellier’s international airport is served by 5 regular or low-cost companies (Air France, Ryanair, Easyjet, Iberia, Air Arabia).

Other international airport in cities like Barcelona, Gerona, Marseille…. are connected by train to Montpellier.

Montpellier’s airport is located 10 km away from the city’s historical center (15 minutes by car), and mid-way between city and sea. Taxis, rented cars and a shuttle (11 daily services) are easily accessible upon arrival. Count approximately 20 € by taxi (depending on the time of arrival) and 1.5 € by shuttle.

Other options may be: To take a flight to Marseille (150 kms from Montpellier), and then take a direct train to Montpellier.

By Train

Another way to come to Montpellier from Paris is to take the high-speed train(TGV): 15 high speed trains are operating daily from downtown Paris (3h ½) and 4 daily direct high-speed trains from Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport (4 hours). The train station is located downtown Montpellier near most hotels. There are also direct trains to Barcelona, Geneva, Nice and Italy, Bordeaux, etc.
